I was wondering what happened to the journal Jim kept during the Miami trial. He mentions this in several interviews, and somewhat jokingly says he'd like to have them published in Esquire one day.

Are they gone or in possession of the Doors estate? Will they ever be released?

That's a good question. The first question is what those notes really are comprised of? Are the poetic notations of the nature of what was going on? Or straightforward notes on the process and his observations. Or was he kind of scribbling in those notebooks and they may be some drawings. But would be interesting to see, if they still exist.

I suppose it's a mix of all those things. Combined with the recently published actual courtroom drawings and everyone's testimonies, it could make a real interesting document of that trial period. Since there is no commercial value in such a document, we're probably never going to see any of it.

If indeed these notes still exist.

Say what! Oh my goodness, I missed that event. Can you please elaborate? Where can one find these documents - and do you mean they've been officially released?

BTW, I recall that the original court records were stolen from Dade County files some years ago.

Published is not the right word, I'm sorry. I found them on the Doors Guide website (which is great)

Also, the thesmokinggun.com has the trial transcript.

It's a good question. I'd sure would like to read his notes. Would have made a great book!

Take a deep breath and scroll back upthread to Jim's last post (29 October, 6:09 p.m) Then click on the links--Jymsbooks and The Doors Examiner--and find out for yourself.

I have no idea whether you were "mean to him" or not, and neither does he, probably. You almost never make any sense, so how the heck are any of us supposed to know what you're talking about?

Okay, fine. Try not to post when you can't make sense, which seems to be most of the time.

Thank you Miz Scarlett for directing SG upthread, and oh, yeah for not mentioning the horrible misspelling I had in that post that has now been corrected, guess I shouldn't try using big words (comprised?!) when I'm tired! :D
