I want to know how long each contributor gets to hold it, kind of like the Stanley Cup.

I don't really care about holding it or getting a New Orleans Ring, I just want a clone of the master reel, or better yet the original copy.

Well........we all buy it and collectively own the master and get royalties based on sales.

:drinks: I'm just blowing smoke but someone needs to free some shows.

We could start a bank account via the Doors office, and every 2 weeks, or whenever the particular member gets paid, send a check for a few bucks. If enough people did it, we could have the tape in no time. Maybe we could set up a deal, and I wouldn't mind send 5 or 10 bucks every 2 weeks, seen as the Doors rarely release anything these days.

Assuming that the tape exists, the Doors would probably listen to it and then not want to release it. They would say something to the effect of "I'm sure glad that you guys bought this for us! We certainly wouldn't have wanted this to get out! We promise that we'll keep your investment real safe. Don't you worry about that! Oh, and please don't be upset. As a consolation, we're releasing all of the studio albums on Blu-ray in a couple of months!"

That's why we demand a copy before we start this deal.:shades:

What would they do? Give us each a copy wrapped in a cease and desist order?

I don't know, maybe if there was extra dough Botnick could tranfer it and make CDR copies or whatever and mail them to the donors.

Call me crazy but until I hear some samples, I'm not buying any of it. If he did own them and does want to sell them, why didn't he contact the Doors? Why would you keep them in a safety deposit box to rot away when you could sell them and make some money if that's what you planned on doing all along? All these years he's never contacted anyone about these? Shady. It took someone to track him down before he showed anyone anything? The whole thing reeks of rubbish. Sorry, but I'm a show me first type of guy. Until then this is all one big pipe dream. Pictures of a set list and a tape doesn't prove squat. Happy Easter.

hardrockcafe, I knew you already posted this interesting piece of info here. I rarely came here but this time I came on purpose since I was curious to know if someone was going to thank you for bringing some interesting issues to this forum.

I will not catalog the credibility or lack of it. It's something we should face with curiosity and constructively. Some people in which I include myself, are still a little skeptical about this but it sure seems exciting news. Let's hope this will desearve the proper attention from the band and the management as the London Fog tape did. I don't know if the tape has the real thing and if the show is fair or horrible but at least the situation needs some attention and verification. I hope people with responsability in this band will face this with a minimum of curiosity making no presumptions before checking. I hope like what has been made by the management of other artists, that the legacy of this band will be taken in good care and if this is the real thing, this tape with such a great historical importance will be considered for a future release.
