How much footage still exists? I know there must be a lot from the Feast of Friends shooting, and I'd pay any money to just see ALL the footage, even if it was just silent. I'm tired of seeing the same old snippets. When You're Strange, though a great documentary, didn't really show that much more unreleased footage, all that stuff can be seen in any of The Doors' music videos or VHS tapes. The Hollywood Bowl was great, don't get me wrong, but I'd love to see new live performances, even if you had to sync it with different versions of the songs, like what was done in The Hollywood Bowl with Hello I Love You, Texas Radio and the Big Beat, etc. Hell, I'll even edit the concerts for you - for free! I have Final Cut Studio, I've synced footage, I love making videos, I'll do it! Haha.
Hey, you guys might or might not of heard of me, but I like to make Doors videos synced with their live footage - you know, so it's actually lip-synced and looks as if they're actually playing the song - and I've gotten really positive responses for all of my videos so far... let's just say the word genius is being thrown around. Haha, I'm just kidding. I hope you like it - it makes me really happy to hear everyone's input. So here's Five To One:
I've also done Love Me Two Times, The End, and Celebration of the Lizard [which has gotten the most response].
Hi, you may have read my thread about the Celebration of the Lizard music video which I made. Because I've gotten a lot of compliments on youtube, I decided to make two more videos. All three are synced with live footage to make it look as real as possible. It's a lot more enjoyable than watching still images of The Doors like you see all over youtube without footage to back it up. I think I've done a good job, but that's for you to tell me.
Love Me Two Times:
Love Me Two Times has especially rare clips of The Doors performing the song live at Bakersfield [towards the end of the video].
As some of you may know, The Doors' long lost project 'Celebration of the Lizard' was supposed to be released on their third album. However, it was either too difficult to record or the band lost interest, either way it's only been released as a whole in three different forms:
Live at the Aquarius Theatre on Absolutely Live Live at the Felt Forum, New York And as a studio attempt on the 4Oth anniversary reissue of Waiting for the Sun.
However, they performed many different pieces of it live, like 'Wake Up/A Little Game/Hill Dwellers' at the Hollywood Bowl and 'Wake Up' at the London Roundhouse.
I always wished Celebration of the Lizard had been recorded successfully so I took it upon myself and combined all their best performances of it into one whole which sounds great. I also synced up footage from the Hollywood Bowl and London Roundhouse and made a video of it and posted it on youtube. I think true Doors fans will appreciate my efforts:
